The Job Search
Step 1: Identify who you are as a job seeker.
Knowing your skills and values can help you discover the career or job you are searching for. Begin by refecting
on your previous work, internship, or volunteer experiences to identify what stood out.
Ask yourself these questions:
• What are your strengths, unique skills, talents, values, and
interests?
• What are your career goals or dream job?
• What can you see yourself doing in a work environment?

Step 2: Do your research.
Reaching out to employers is important because it is an opportunity to ask all the questions you may have about
the position, industry, or company. Remember, they are not just interviewing you, but you are also interviewing
them. Identify the most you can about the company’s culture, values, team members, and if there is room for

Step 3: Find out the requirements for the job you are
applying to.
