Interview Follow-up
Acing the interview is just one step in landing the job. Following up efectively demonstrates your continued
interest and professionalism and reinforces your qualifcations in the hiring manager9s mind. Here is how to craft a
stellar follow-up email or handwritten note:
" Timing is Key: Aim to send your follow-up within
24 hours of the interview. This shows enthusiasm
and keeps your name fresh in the interviewer9s
memory.
" Express Gratitude: Thank the interviewer for their
time and the opportunity to learn more about the
position and the company.
" Reiterate Your Interest: Briefy express your
continued interest in the role and how your
qualifcations can beneft the company. Mention
something specifc you discussed during the
interview that excites you about the opportunity.
" Ofer Additional Information: Did you forget to mention a relevant skill or experience? Briefy highlight it in
your email.
" Ask a Question (Optional): If there is something you didn9t get a chance to clarify during the interview, ask a
thoughtful question related to the role or company culture.
" Close Professionally: Thank the interviewer for their time and consideration, and reiterate your interest in
moving forward in the interview process.
" Subject Line: Keep it clear and concise. Include your name, the position you interviewed for, and the
interview date (e.g., Cody Coyote - Environmental Analyst Interview - May 29th).
" Proofread Carefully: Typos and grammatical errors can leave a negative impression. Double-check your
